Share a project and manage roles

Invite co-authors with a link, change what they can do, and remove access.

Every project member has a role: Owner, Editor, or Viewer. You see your own role in the Role column of the project list on the dashboard.

Share a project

  1. In the left sidebar of the project screen, click Share to open the Project sharing panel.
  2. Under Invite link, click one of the buttons:
    • Share with editor access: copies a link that lets people edit.
    • Share with viewer access: copies a link that lets people view.
  3. You'll see "Invitation link copied. Share it to invite someone." Send the link to your co-author.

A button appears only if your role lets you share that kind of link.

People with access lists everyone who can open the project, with their name, email, and role.

When someone opens an invite link, Murfy shows "Opening project..." and then opens the project.

  • A link from Share with viewer access has view- right after /invite/ and gives view access. Any other invite link gives edit access.
  • You need to be logged in. If you aren't, you're sent to the login screen and brought back to the invite after you log in. If you have just signed up, you finish the onboarding questions first and are then brought back.
  • If the link doesn't work, an error message appears and you're taken to your dashboard.

Change a role or remove access

Only the Owner can do this. In the People with access list, the Owner's row can't be changed.

  1. Open the Share panel.
  2. In the member's row, open the role menu and choose Editor or Viewer.
  3. To remove someone, choose Delete. In the Remove access dialog, click Delete to confirm.

You'll see "Access removed." The person can no longer open the project.

If you're not the Owner, the list shows each member's role as plain text.
