Create a Murfy account with Google or with your email address.

You can sign up for Murfy in two ways: with a Google account or with your email address. On the sign-up screen, choose Continue with Google or Continue with email.

By signing up, you agree to our Terms of service and Privacy policy. Both are linked at the bottom of the sign-up screen.

Sign up with Google

  1. On the sign-up screen, click Continue with Google.
  2. Choose the Google account you want to use.
  3. Continue to Tell us about yourself.

Sign up with email

Step 1. Verify your email

  1. On the sign-up screen, click Continue with email.
  2. Enter your Name and Email.
  3. Click Receive code. A verification code is sent to your email.
  4. Enter the code in Verification code and click Verify email.

You can also continue by clicking the verification link in the same email.

You need to wait a moment before requesting another code. The button shows how long is left. If you request too often, you'll see "Too many attempts. Please wait a moment before requesting a new code."

Your name can be up to 40 characters and can't contain:

  • the characters \ / : ; " * ? < > |
  • emoji
  • something that looks like a web address or an email address

Step 2. Set a password

Enter Password and Confirm password, then click Sign up. Your password must:

  • be at least 8 characters
  • include at least 2 of the following: letters, numbers, or special characters

If your email is already registered

If you try to sign up with an email that's already registered, you'll see "The email is not valid or the verification code is incorrect. Please double-check and try again." This also happens for an email you signed up with through Google. In that case, log in instead. If you signed up with Google, log in with Continue with Google.

Tell us about yourself

Whichever way you sign up, the first time you'll see "Welcome to Murfy!". Answer two questions and click Get started with Murfy to go to your dashboard.

  1. What is your current job or role? Choose Undergraduate student, Graduate student, Professor, Corporate researcher, or Other. If you choose Other, type your job or role.
  2. What is your organization? Enter your school, institution, or company.

Agreeing to promotional emails is optional. You can change it later in Terms and cookie settings.
