Change or reset your password

Change your password, or set a new one if you forgot it.

Only accounts that signed up with email have a password. If you signed up with Google, you log in with your Google account and don't need a Murfy password.

Your password must:

  • be at least 8 characters
  • include at least 2 of the following: letters, numbers, or special characters

Change your password

Use this while you're logged in.

  1. Click your profile picture at the top right of the dashboard and choose Setting.
  2. On the Account page, under Password, click Update password.
  3. Enter your current password, a new password, and the new password again, then click Update password.

When it's done, you'll see "Your password has been changed." and return to the settings page.

If your current password is wrong, you'll see "The password doesn't match our records. Please double-check and try again." The page expires 15 minutes after you open it. If that happens, refresh the page or log in again.

Reset a forgotten password

  1. On the login screen, click Reset password.
  2. Enter the Email you signed up with and click Receive code.
  3. Enter the code from your email and click Verify email. You can also click the link in the email.
  4. Enter New password and Confirm new password, then click Update password.

When you see "Your password has been reset. You can now log in with your new password.", you're taken to the login screen. Log in with your new password.

If the reset fails, start again from the beginning. If it keeps failing, use the contact our support team link at the bottom of the page.
