Billing & Invoices

Billing depends on whether you pay in Korea or outside Korea. See Payment methods for the difference.

Billing Criteria

Payments in Korea (KRW)

When Upgrading from the Free plan

If you switch from the Free plan to a paid plan, your billing cycle will begin immediately, and the charge will be made on the same day the subscription starts.

When Changing the Billing Cycle of a Paid Plan

If you change your billing cycle (e.g., from monthly to annual) while on a paid plan, the system will schedule the change and charge the new billing amount 7 days before the scheduled billing date. The actual payment is processed on the scheduled billing date.

Monthly vs. Annual Billing (Pro plan)

With the Pro plan, you can choose between monthly and annual billing cycles. The total amount and billing schedule differ based on your selection.

  • Annual billing offers a 25% discount compared to monthly billing.
  • Plans automatically renew every month or every year, depending on your selection.

Annual Plan Example

If you subscribe on January 28, 2026, your next renewal will occur on January 28, 2027.

Monthly Plan Example

If you subscribe on January 28, 2026, your next renewal will occur on February 28, 2026.

Payments outside Korea (USD, Paddle)

  • When you upgrade from the Starter plan to a paid plan, you pay in the Paddle checkout window and your subscription starts right away.
  • Prices are billed in USD and include VAT (10%).
  • With the Pro plan, you can choose monthly or annual billing. Annual billing costs less than paying monthly. See the Pricing page for current prices.
  • Plans renew automatically every month or every year, depending on your selection.
  • You can check your current plan, upcoming plan, and next payment in Manage subscription.

How to View Invoices or Receipts

Payments in Korea (KRW)

To check your current plan, upcoming plan, and issued invoices:

  1. Go to the Murfy Dashboard.
  2. Click your profile icon in the top right corner.
  3. Select Subscription.
  4. In the Subscription Management section, you’ll see details of your current and scheduled plans under Plan Management.
  5. Scroll down to the Invoices section to view issued invoices.
  6. Click on any invoice to download or view the receipt for the corresponding payment.

Payments outside Korea (USD, Paddle)

After each payment or renewal, Paddle emails you a receipt with a PDF invoice attached. You can also download invoices in Murfy:

  1. Go to the Murfy Dashboard.
  2. Click your profile picture in the top right corner.
  3. Select Subscription.
  4. Scroll down to the Invoices section.
  5. Click an invoice, then click Download receipt to get the invoice PDF issued by Paddle.

For payments outside Korea (USD, Paddle), a payment link you receive by email opens the Murfy payment page (/checkout). You can open it without logging in.

The page shows "Loading… Please wait a moment." and then the Paddle checkout window opens. Pay in the checkout window. While the checkout window is open, a Retry button stays at the bottom of the page.

When the checkout window closes or can't open, the page shows one of these messages:

MessageWhen it appearsButton
"Your payment has been received."You completed the paymentManage subscription or Login
"The payment window was closed."You closed the checkout window without payingRetry
"There is no payment to continue."The link you opened has no payment in itLogin
"The payment window could not be opened."The checkout window couldn't be loaded or didn't open within 25 seconds. The link may have expired or already been paidRetry, and "If you need futher assistance contact our support team" (the last part is a link)

Retry reloads the page and tries to open the checkout window again.

After you pay, it can take a moment for your plan to update. If you're logged in to Murfy in the same browser and the payment is confirmed right away, the button is Manage subscription. Otherwise the button is Login, and after you log in you go to Manage subscription.

If you have an unpaid invoice

If a payment for an invoice failed, a red banner appears at the top of Manage subscription: "There's an unpaid invoice. Please complete the payment to subscribe to a plan."

  1. Click View unpaid invoice in the banner. The invoice opens with the title "Payment failed on {date}".
  2. Click Continue payment to pay the invoice again. When the payment goes through, "Your plan has been upgraded." appears.

Continue payment appears only when the last payment for the invoice failed. In the Invoices list, that invoice shows Failed.

The dashboard also shows a banner about the failed payment. See Banners.

FAQ

My paid plan was suddenly downgraded to the free plan. Why did this happen?

For payments in Korea, this usually means that your subscription payment was not successfully processed.

Murfy’s billing system attempts to charge your payment method multiple times. If all attempts fail, your plan is automatically downgraded to the Starter (free) plan.

However, you can re-subscribe to a paid plan at any time by going to:

Dashboard > Profile picture (top right) > Subscription > Plan options

If you need assistance, feel free to reach out to the Murfy support team. We’re here to help!
